Delhi Mobile Stores : Nokia launches phones for farmers
Nokia has finally started commercial phase of Nokia Life Tools service in India. It is sure to help farmers and other sections of the society. The initial test phase was a resounding success in Maharashtra and in other places too it is going to be similarly successful.
Nokia Life Tools was conceived as a series of mobile educational services, which included the best information on agriculture, specifically for rural areas and populations of small cities in emerging markets.
Nokia Life Tools allows farmers and students to overcome the information barrier and ensures their timely and important information. These services use intuitive user interface with a set of related images, with available tables and the ability to display only once in two languages. Important information is delivered text messages, which allows the use of services, when enabled mobile device, without additional configuration and the need for a GPRS coverage.
The Life Tools are to be accessed through the handsets from Nokia 2323 classic and 2330 classic and very soon other devices follow the suit. The application is done by an icon-based rich user interface displayed in bilingual mode. A greater application means is SMS by which the information is delivered as in the case of a mobile handset. The application does not require any exclusive settings nor GPRS. The Life Tools services are available at two plans – Rs30/month is under basic plan covering weather updates and agri-based information including advice and tips. The premium plan comes @Rs60/month (available in 10states) offering the closest market prices for any three crops, weather, news and advice and tips.
